The scheme aims for integrated development of selected villages having more than 50% Scheduled Caste (SC) population through implementation of existing scheme of Central and State Governments in a convergent manner.
The scheme is under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and it is being implemented by utilization of gap filling funds provided as Central Assistance.
After 3 years of implementation, a village can be declared as Adarsh village if it satisfies any three of the following targets,
Reduction in Poverty incidence by at least 50% within three years.
Universal adult literacy
100% enrolment and retention of children at the elementary stage (I-VIII).
Villages should be 100% open defecation free
Access to safe drinking water facility to all villagers on a sustainable basis.
100% institutional deliveries for pregnant women
Full immunisation of children
Achieving all weather road connectivity to the village
100% registration of deaths and births in the village.
No child marriages, and child labour
No public consumption of liquor and other intoxicating substances.
100% allotment of Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awaas Yojana (PMGAY)houses to all eligible families
Har Ghar Jal
It refers to the government’s commitment to provide safe tap water on a sustained basis in every household by 2030 as per the United Nations sustainable development goals.
It also focuses on accomplishing mission of providing safe drinking water to about 28,000 habitations affected by arsenic and fluoride contaminations in the country by 2021.
VAHAN and SARATHI
VAHAN and SARATHI are e-governance initiative of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
These are centralized digital online based citizen centric application aims to ease out the processes and curb corruption.
It aims at facilitating computerization of Road Transport Offices (RTOs) across the country and a common pan-India level same standard for Registration certificate and driving licenses.
The software VAHAN is for Vehicle Registration and SARATHI for Driving Licenses and compilation of data with respect to Vehicle Registration and Driving Licenses of all the states in State Register and National Register.
